About Instructional Technologies and Distance Learning

The Instructional Technologies and Distance Learning (ITDL) Department supports faculty and staff as they collaborate and explore new ways to serve our learners. The ITDL Department includes:

  • The Learning Design Center
  • Instructional Technologies

The Learning Design Center is where faculty, instructional designers, and technical experts plan and design online learning experiences to support distance, hybrid and classroom instruction. After defining learning outcomes and assessment criteria, we identify engaging learning activities for students. Then we choose from among the array of communication, collaboration, and content delivery tools available today to support teaching and learning.

Instructional Technologies serves CSCC by providing faculty and staff professional development on various instructional technologies employed by Columbus State. We also assist in the research, development, and implementation of innovative instructional technologies.

The ITDL department is part of the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, 339 Cleveland Avenue, and we provide a resource lending library, video and still camera checkout, and a meeting space.
