Overview

In order to delete a category, all of the following conditions must be met:

1. The Category is not a Default Category (Assignment, Test, Survey, Discussion)
2. The Category is not currently being used. If any Grade Center column is using a particular Category, you will not be able to delete it until all columns have been edited to use a different Category. You can view those columns which are using a particular Category under the "Columns" column under Manage > Categories:
   

To delete a Category, follow these steps:

1. Access the Grade Center
2. Expand the Manage menu (hover over Manage )
3. Select Categories
   
4. Click on the Drop Down Arrow beside the Category you wish to delete
5. Select Delete

   Note

   The Delete option will only appear for Categories that can be deleted from the Grade Center.

   
   
6. Click OK
   

Alternative Method:

1. Access the Grade Center
2. Expand the Manage menu (hover over Manage )
3. Select Categories
   
4. Select all Categories you wish you delete (check the boxes in front of each name)

   Note

   The checkboxes will only appear for Categories that can be deleted from the Grade Center.

   
   
5. Select Delete
6. Click OK
